Curation Assignment
Website Curation
Curation Websites
Reflection
When I first entered the curation website collection on the class resources I saw a banner offering for me to sign up for Pearltrees at the top of the page. Clicking on it took me to the Pearltrees sign up page, and after creating an account I was taken to the curation page. It was pretty easy to add the websites to the page. I just had to copy and paste the website links. Each website has a little square picture of the website. Clicking on them makes the square blow up into a bigger square with a link on the top. After Pearltrees I clicked on the Padlet link. I remembered Padlet for the first week of school introductions so I was curious what it would be like to make one of my own. Embedding the links was fairly easy. I simply clicked the link symbol and copy and pasted a website link before hitting enter. The websites appear as small rectangles that look like social media posts. After Padlet I tried a website called LiveBinders but the link took me to a password page so I decided to go with something else. That was when I chose Listly as my last website. Embedding the websites was done a bit differently here. You would click add to list and then click on the link symbol before copy and pasting the link. After that you could click add another and add all your links in one fell swoop. The websites appear in a numbered list that you can scroll down, with large images of the website. These websites will help me make fun compilations of library resources for patrons to browse. If the library's resources are displayed in a fun way they would be more likely to be more engaged with library sources and library events.
I love the photos you used! You're reflection was quite thorough as well. It is both fun and complicated to use these sites for the first time. I do see how fun for libraries using these sites for organization, promotions, etc could be.
